Telemetry Hardware: Vision

Vision products offer you a cost-effective, versatile way of monitoring installations remotely. Flexible, easy to configure and install, Vision products help improve service quality and drive down the cost of operating expenses by maximising uptime and reducing maintenance costs. The range provides both local automatic control functions, and a comprehensive monitoring system extending alarms and events to the central management system (VSys).

There are three products in the Vision range:

Vision Virtual Engineer: flexible connections

Versatile and reliable, the Virtual Engineer has been developed to meet almost every monitoring application, including telecommunications, transport and railway systems, oil and gas exploration and water and electricity distribution.

The Virtual Engineer VE500 and VE5000 modules have flexible and comprehensive input and output connection arrangements. Both models include configurable analogue and digital inputs and incorporate analogue outputs. The digital outputs are Boolean logic configurable and also include 16 internal state logic states. This enables operators to view the status of the connected equipment and set functional parameters. The Vision unit has configurable serial ports - both RS232 and RS485 - so micro-processor based equipment can also be monitored, and controlled automatically and remotely. The unit is very configurable with state-logic functions available to provide complex control loops.

Vision Communication Concentrator: seamless data transmission

The flexible Communication Concentrator is designed to facilitate the connection of numerous serial interfaces to support the monitoring and control of equipment including UPS, air conditioning, generators and security systems via embedded protocols.

The serial connections enable a seamless transmission of data to the VSys management system. Each module is fitted with analogue and digital inputs and outputs to provide alarm and control facilities that enable a complete solution for complex site installations. An optional front panel LCD allows operators to view the status of the connected equipment and set functional parameters. The Vision unit has configurable serial ports to RS232 or RS485, so micro-processor based equipment can also be monitored. The unit is very configurable with state-logic functions availible to provide complex control loops.

Vision Battery Engineer: efficient battery monitoring

The BE500 and BE5000 Battery Engineer modules enable you to monitor your standby DC power installations and are an ideal solution for both 24V and 48V battery installations. The Battery Engineer system is also available for the monitoring of UPS battery sets. Depending on the module selected, either two or six battery strings are monitored via one module.

Solutions for battery monitoring are provided via VCell battery cell products that are installed in conjunction with either the BE500 or BE5000. Each Battery Engineer module is equipped as standard with both analogue and digital inputs and outputs to enable connection to mission critical devices and equipment, enabling constant information on load status to be reported instantly.
