Telemetry Software: VSys

The VSys software platform is a resilient, integrated, powerful management system that enables you to keep control of your remote sites, no matter how isolated or far away they are. The VSys system facilitates pro-active network management, increases remote site maintenance efficiencies and reduces spare part inventory costs. VSys allows you to monitor and control hundreds or even thousands of remote sites via single or multiple network management centres, providing complete network security for mission critical infrastructures.

Sophisticated software

VSys is Windows-based and has a client-server architecture suitable for all sizes of integrated networks, from small to large. The sophisticated and flexible software architecture is easy to navigate and operate and is designed to grow and evolve with expansion and changes within your network. The database is a standard SQL format with fast, efficient access, allowing user-specific reports to be generated, using, for example, Crystal Reports^TM.

Simultaneous connections

Designed to connect to the complete range of Vision products, VSys can be configured for seamless network integration, enabling multiple simultaneous connections. Connection options include Ethernet, PSTN, ISDN, GSM (data and SMS), GPRS, Microwave Radio, Internet and Intranet.

Communication to and from remote sites is via a secure transmission protocol. The VMDE (VSys Message Distribution Engine) provides a feature to forward messages via SMS and / or e-mail, on a selected basis.

Alarms and events

Real time exception reporting with a heartbeat ping feature is incorporated into the standard software, with all alarms and events being logged for immediate evaluation and attention. An alarm timeout procedure ensures that alarms are automatically regenerated if not rectified within the specified time, ie not meeting the service level agreements. Alarms and events are colour coded and can be grouped into separate sets for future statistical analysis. Alarms are easily acknowledged: the user has access to all site details and is able to review all active alarms and enter corrective action instructions. A full audit trial is provided, with time and date stamps for alarm generation, the name of the person who acknowledged the fault, and when it cleared.

Site mapping

VSys incorporates a distinctive map feature which displays the locations of remote sites. Different symbols are used to identify individual site groups and the status of each site is colour-coded dependant on condition. Alternatively, a graphical representation of your network can be used to display your remote sites.

Customised site display

The hierarchical format of the VSys Schema Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides a customer-specific interactive visual representation of all remote site details and enables the user to remotely monitor and control individual site-installed equipment, all in real time. The VSys Schema image library, together with the design toolkit, allows users to customise individual site representations via an intuitive Windows-style interface.
